Host a Just Be-Cause Event

What better excuse to gather your good friends and enjoy each other's company!

We will provide you with a selection of our goods from Nepal (scarves, jewelry and bags), and you use them to raise funds through donations, games or auction - however you want!

This is an easy and rewarding fundraiser, created by Lorelei McAuley. Lorelei's goal was to bring together her closest friends and family for a luncheon and to take time to let them know how important they were to her. Now the luncheon had a bit of a slant ..as you may notice from the title, this was a party with a CAUSE.

The steps of how to make a "Just Be-Cause Event" happen:

1. Contact IWEN to arrange for scarves and Nepalese Products. You will be supplied with brochures, information sheets, payment recording sheets, and we can help with any questions you may have.
2. IWEN can also try to arrange a guest speaker to share information with your guests. If you have a specific date and time, inform the IWEN office and it may be possible to arrange for an IWEN representative to join your event.
3. Send out invitations for your event including the information about IWEN. It is helpful to remind people to bring some money if they are interested in purchasing at the party.
4. Pick up or arrange for delivery of Nepalese Products and IWEN forms and supplies.
5. Organize party as you would - with food, beverages, etc.
6. Lay out scarves and other Nepalese Products throughout the venue. It is great to have people feel and try on things so encourage them to do so.
7. For those who are purchasing, have them complete the Payment Form. All credit card information will be processed through the IWEN office (and then destroyed).
8. Track how many scarves, pieces of jewelry and purses are sold.
9. Fill out the appropriate reporting forms and arrange to bring left over product, monies earned and completed report forms to the IWEN Office.
10. Send out card of thanks to participants.

Contact IWEN to explain your idea and the Fund Raising Committee will get back to you. We will then provide feedback and any guidance you may require.
